About the founder

I'm Sarah McDonald, a nurse prescriber who learned marketing the hard way

An NMC-registered nurse prescriber with a background in critical care and aesthetics. I founded Inject Digital to help clinics get found on Google and recommended by tools such as ChatGPT. I work with businesses beyond healthcare too.

From critical care to my own clinic

I trained as a nurse prescriber, with a background in critical care. In 2018 I trained in aesthetics with Lee Walker Academy and opened my own clinic in Blackburn.

I knew what I was doing in the treatment room. Getting patients through the door was another matter. I posted on Instagram every day, shared before-and-afters and paid for help. My website was still hard to find.

Learning marketing because I had to

I started learning marketing in 2018 because I needed to understand it myself. That meant SEO, social media, paid ads and content. In 2020, an autoimmune disease took my sight and I couldn't practise. Then the pandemic hit. During my recovery, I kept learning, and began to see what my own marketing had been missing.

Being good at your work isn't enough to get you found, while less skilled clinics fill their diaries.

I could see other skilled practitioners struggling with the same thing.

Why I built Inject Digital

That's why I built Inject Digital. Healthcare, wellness and aesthetics are my specialism because I understand how patients choose who to trust. I've worked under ASA and MHRA rules myself. I also use the same approach with businesses outside healthcare.

What that looks like for my clients

Real clinics, measurable results

Named by AI in 83% of questions

An Epsom clinic went from not being named by AI tools at all to being named in 83% of patients' questions.

260% more slots chosen in a month

A Leeds clinic saw a 260% rise in patients choosing an appointment slot in a single month.

Every client I work with has been named by AI tools. More detail in my case studies
